Nab real culprits in evidence theft: GV Reddy
Real culprits being protected like in Viveka murder.
AMARAVATI: TDP national spokesman G.V. Reddy on Saturday demanded that Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy should respond on the theft of documentary evidence from court in a case involving his own Cabinet Minister as accused number 1.
G.V. Reddy said the whole country was stunned after seeing the Nellore court theft which was unprecedented in the history of the nation. The Chief Minister should dismiss Minister Kakani Govardhan Reddy from the Cabinet to ensure proper investigation into the theft case.
Addressing a press conference here, the TDP leader said it would not be enough to arrest some unknown offenders in the court theft case. The Government should nab the real culprits responsible for the theft. Till now, the people have seen robberies in houses, banks and temples. Now, thieves were targetting the courts for stealing crucial documentary evidence.
G.V. Reddy expressed doubt that just like in the Viveka murder case, the ruling YSRCP leaders were trying to protect the real culprits in the court theft case. Towards this purpose, the innocent persons were arrested. The theft case should be taken to its logical end for restoring public faith in the courts.
The TDP leader recalled how former minister S. Chandramohan Reddy filed a case against Kakani for releasing forged documents to defame him in 2016. Chandramohan Reddy accused Kakani of spreading false propaganda against him that he amassed Rs. 1,000 Cr illegal assets in Singapore. For this, false evidence was created.
G.V. Reddy expressed surprise that Kakani had created false flight tickets and visa documents to accuse Chandramohan Reddy of having visited Singapore for his property deals. In the police investigation, all these documents were proved to have been forged.
The TDP leader said that Minister Kakani had resorted to the theft of documentary evidence fearing that he would lose his Cabinet berth if he was convicted in the forgery documents case. Kakani became Minister only a few days ago and now the crucial documents in his case were stolen from the court itself.
G.V. Reddy asked how Jagan Reddy could make Kakani a Minister despite knowing that he was an accused in over 25 cases. This was as per the election affidavit filed by the Minister in 2014. Now, the CM seemed to be bent on protecting the Minister who was facing the grim prospects of losing the defamation case.
