Naidu created Rs 2 L Cr asset, Jagan destroying: Anuradha
Amaravati project removes regional imbalances
AMARAVATI: TDP general secretary Panchumarthy Anuradha on Wednesday saluted the Amaravati farmers for their determination and courage in completing their 450-km Mahapadayatra walkathon successfully despite false cases and obstacles created by the ruling YSRCP MLAs.
Anuradha said while Chandrababu Naidu created a Rs. 2 Lakh Crore worth of asset in Capital City, Jaganmohan Reddy was hell bent on destroying such readily available wealth in a thoughtless manner. Unfortunately, the Chief Minister was not realizing his folly even after seeing the resounding success of the ‘Nyayasthanam to Devasthanam’ yatra from Amaravati to the God’s abode in Tirupati.
Addressing a press conference here, the TDP leader recalled how the Mahapadayatris continued their walkathon despite the non-stop suppression and harassment from the police and the ruling YSRCP leaders all along the way. Over 50 false cases were filed against the participants in this historic yatra. The ruling party MLAs did not hesitate to harass and humiliate the women farmers.
Anuradha said the YSRCP Government stooped so low that it removed even the bio toilets that were provided for the women participants of Mahapadayatra. However, they patiently bore all such humiliations and refused to succumb to the pressure from the ruling party. The farmers, who were providers of food, were forced to take their lunch on the roadsides. The YCP leaders created obstacles for hiring kalyana mandapams for their lunches and dinners.
The TDP leader slammed the Chief Minister for acting ‘without any conscience’ with regard to the Amaravati Capital City project. Chandrababu Naidu developed it into a Rs. 2 Lakh Crore asset without spending a single rupee from the public funds. If properly executed, this project would bring in speedier development in all the 13 districts of AP so that over 10 lakh young people would get jobs.
Anuradha said the overall Amaravati agitation has been going on for over 729 days. The Capital City farmers, women and youth were taking part in hunger strikes and protests. Jagan Reddy turned them into ‘living corpses’. The YCP leaders made strange allegations that Amaravati was both a flood-prone place and a desert, which were mutually contradictory terms.
The TDP leader said the Chandrababu regime used the Amaravati project to usher in development and job prospects in all the three regions of Andhra Pradesh. The IT industry got a boost in North Andhra. The Lulu project, Millennium Towers, Adani Centre and Vizag-Chennai Industrial Corridor were planned in a big way there. In Rayalaseema, a new impetus was given to industrial development and horticulture. Solar power companies, Kia Motors, Sri City, Celkon and such industries were given all support.
