-YCP denying benefits to Dalits: Sireesha
-Decries Jagan conditions for free power
AMARAVATI: TDP official spokesperson Gouthu Sireesha on Tuesday accused the YSRCP Government of betraying the weaker sections of people in the name of distributing welfare benefits. Sireesha said that each and every welfare programme was subjected to cuts eventually denying the benefits to eligible sections. Dalits were not able to get any benefits because of the inefficient rule of Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Addressing a press conference here, the TDP leader said that Jagan had diluted even the 200 units free power programme for the poor families. As per the new conditions, the beneficiaries should live only in SC, ST colonies. In the past, the benefit was given regardless of where they were living.
Sireesha said that NTR gave free power to a single bulb hut and Rajasekhar Reddy announced 50 units free power. Chandrababu Naidu had increased free power to 150 units per month. Till now, SC, STs enjoyed free power by showing caste certificates. But now, new conditions were depriving them of their opportunity.
The TDP leader pointed out that Jagan Reddy had multiple houses and palaces spread over Hyderabad, Bangalore, Tadepalli and Pulivendula. Was there any rule that Dalits should have only one house? How could pensions of single women be cut in the name of current bills?
Decrying the Government, Sireesha said the Jagan Reddy regime was wasting crores of public funds on advertisements. But, the poorer sections were not being allowed to enjoy welfare benefits properly. Ration was being cancelled if the current bill was crossing Rs. 1,000.
The TDP leader slammed the YSRCP for spreading falsehoods against Chandrababu Naidu in order to grab power. After becoming the CM, Jagan Reddy started filing false cases if anybody raised a voice against his Government’s unlawful policies.
Sireesha said that the Jagan rule has cancelled 7 lakh pensions and denied Amma Vodi to 10 lakh mothers. Over 15 lakh deserving farmers were not getting Rythu Bharosa. In this manner, Jagan Reddy was giving Rs. 100 and taking away Rs. 1,000 from each and every person in the State.
