CM vendetta towards Kapus condemnable: MLA
Kapu students deprived of Videsi Vidya benefits
Jagan cancelled Kapu reservations
AMARAVATI: TDP Repalle MLA Anagani Satya Prasad on Sunday said the Kapu community faced more injustice than justice under the Jagan Mohan Reddy Government in the past three years.
Satya Prasad said while Chandrababu Naidu provided food and livelihoods for the Kapus, Jagan Reddy was snatching away food from their mouths. Ever since he became the Chief Minister, Jagan Reddy adopted a vindictive approach towards the Kapus in the State.
In a statement here, the TDP MLA recalled how the previous regime spent Rs. 1,500 Cr every year for Videsi Vidya to the Kapu students. But Jagan Reddy had reduced scholarships from Rs. 10 Lakh to Rs. 5 Lakh to the Kapu students going to foreign countries.
Satya Prasad said that the Chandrababu regime created facilities for the Kapu students to stay at the AP Bhavan in Delhi to prepare for competitive examinations. Jagan Reddy had even removed this programme. Without any principles, the AP Bhavan was converted into the YSRCP Bhavan.
The TDP MLA deplored that the ruling party had turned the Kapu corporation into an ornamental entity without any funds or powers. The Kapu youth were totally deprived of all job opportunities. Why was the Chief Minister giving sole focus to his Tadepalli palace but not to the Kapu corporation? He did not hold review on this even once?
Satya Prasad said that the Kapu Mahila Nestham programme was implemented for just 2.5 Lakh out of the total 40 Lakh eligible beneficiaries. The Government was betraying them and showing all the pensions and Amma Vodi funds under general programmes in the Kapu welfare benefits.
The TDP MLA termed it as deplorable that the Central welfare programmes were also being merged with the State programmes. The old programmes were being renamed after YSR and they were being implemented as if they were new programmes.
Satya Prasad asserted that Chandrababu Naidu provided 5 percent reservations to Kapus without causing any injustice to the BCs. Jagan Reddy had cancelled even these reservations and thereby revealed his hatred towards the Kapu community.
The TDP MLA recalled how the Jagan regime had cancelled the Kapu Bhavans. No priority was given to Kapus in the nominated posts. The Kapu community should teach a fitting lesson to the CM for trying to suppress them politically, socially and financially.
