-Like any devotee, Naidu prayed for people: Anuradha
-Goddess’ blessings needed to rescue AP
AMARAVATI: TDP state general secretary Panchumarthy Anuradha on Friday accused CM Jagan Reddy’s Advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy of misinterpreting the statements of Chandrababu Naidu for political advantage.
Anuradha asked how Sajjala could twist facts when Chandrababu Naidu just prayed to Goddess Durga for bestowing ‘all the necessary strength and blessings’ on him so as to reconstruct Andhra Pradesh.
Addressing a press conference here, the TDP leader asserted that in his capacity as a former Chief Minister and the Leader of Opposition in the State, Chandrababu Naidu sought the Goddess’ blessings for the people’s prosperity. The Chief Minister’s Advisor had stooped so low that he was giving false interpretations even to a visit to the temple.
Anuradha termed it as unfortunate that the ruling YSRCP leaders had no basic idea of what any devotee would seek in their prayers to deities. It has been an age-old practice for anybody to pray for ‘energy and health’ during visits to temples. Devotees would only ask for this whether they would visit Kanaka Durga Temple or Simhadri Appanna Temple or Tirupati Venkateswara Swamy Temple.
The TDP leader objected to Sajjala saying that Chandrababu had no strength which was why he prayed for it at the temple. In that case, Narendra Modi, Amit Shah and even the Supreme Court Chief Justice would also pray for such blessings. Could Sajjala say that all these personalities had no inherent strength?
Anuradha said the Jagan Reddy Government caused Rs. 7 Lakh Cr debt to the State but it could not even give Rs. 3,000 pensions to the aged people. While Chandrababu Naidu gave food to the poor people at just Rs. 5, Jagan Reddy raised expectations but eventually cancelled it.
The TDP leader asserted that Sajjala had no moral or political standing to criticise Chandrababu Naidu. It was a shame that Sajjala was an Advisor to a Government that was making the intermediate students to starve by giving half meals. This Government had also destroyed Polavaram that was visualised to supply irrigation water to every acre in the State.
