-Jagan Govt not punishing YSRCP culprits
-‘Unauthoritative notices’ given to Naidu and Uma
-Vasireddy Padma undermined gang-rape case
-‘Ooriko Unmadi’ book released on atrocities culprits
AMARAVATI: The TDP MLAs, MPs, leaders and cadres will hold dharna in all 175 assembly constituency headquarters on Wednesday in protest against the YSRCP Government’s ‘failure’ to punish culprits in 800 cases of atrocities against women.
The TDP leaders challenged AP Women’s Commission Chairperson Vasireddy Padma to do justice for these victimised women instead of giving ‘unauthoritative notices’ to former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and ex MLA Bonda Uma.
The TDP released a book titled ‘Ooriko Unmadi Jagan palanalo’ (a maniac in every village under Jagan rule) to make the YCP Government accountable for non-stop rapes, gang-rapes, murder attempts, murders and daily harassments to women.
Addressing a joint press conference on the occasion, ex MLA Bonda Uma, TDP Telugu Mahila state president Vangalapudi Anitha and others asked why Vasireddy Padma could not get the culprits punished even in a single atrocities case. Half of the culprits in over 1,500 rape cases were the ruling YSRCP leaders. Padma owed an explanation on this.
Bonda Uma demanded Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy to open his mouth on the 800 atrocities cases. The Government kept silent for three days and responded only after Chandrababu Naidu visited the gang-rape victim girl at the Vijayawada Government General Hospital. It was a shame that the new woman Home Minister was asking media about details of gang-rape four days after the incident.
Anitha accused Vasireddy Padma of using cheap tricks against Chandrababu Naidu only to divert the public attention from the GGH atrocity. Padma and the YCP have set aside the gang-rape victim case by triggering debates on the ‘illegitimate notices’ given to Naidu and Uma.
Expressing serious concern, Anitha said women were becoming victims of atrocities not just when they would go out but even if they remained inside their houses. In the name of volunteers, the ruling YSRCP leaders were entering homes, raping women and taking naked photos. The State has now got one maniac or psycho in every village.
The TDP leaders asked whether Vasireddy Padma would not talk about the Perecherla gang-rape case because the culprits were followers of a YCP MP and a former Minister. Killers of girl victims were moving freely on bail without proper punishment just like Jagan Reddy who was ruthlessly ruling the State on bail.
Anitha dared Padma to speak about what steps she had taken in her capacity as the Women’s Commission chairperson with regard to 800 atrocities on women. The details of all these cases were given in the just released book. Padma should act immediately if she had any conscience.
