Varla urged DGP to restore 24-hr security to TDP office

-Security withdrawn prior to Oct 19 attack, says Varla
-YCP goons attempted to murder TDP staff
-Threat to NSG Z+ protectee Chandrababu Naidu

AMARAVATI: TDP politburo member Varla Ramaiah on Wednesday urged the DGP of Andhra Pradesh to provide round the clock armed security to the Telugu Desam Party central office located in Mangalagiri in Amaravati Capital City.

Ramaiah wrote a letter to the DGP, stressing the need for enhanced security at the TDP office as party National President and former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, MPs, MLAs, former Ministers and others were taking part in day to day programmes there. Chandrababu Naidu has been an NSG Z plus protectee and there was a constant threat from the anti-social elements.

Ramaiah pointed out that on October 19, 2021, some goondas and miscreants belonging to the ruling YSRCP attacked and vandalised the TDP central office. Furniture was damaged and staff were attacked. Some of the party staff sustained injuries.

The TDP leader said that when the ruling YCP goondas attempted to murder the TDP staff when they tried to stop their attacks on their party central office. Prior to this ghastly attack, there used to be 24-hour armed security. This was cancelled without giving any prior information or notice to the TDP office.

Varla Ramaiah said that the gruesome attack took place on the TDP central office even though it was located in close proximity to the DGP office. Even then, the YCP miscreants resorted to a ghastly attack in broad daylight. There was an immediate need to restore round the clock security in order to prevent any untoward incidents. The anti-social elements should be kept at bay at any cost.

Ramaiah said the TDP central office is located abutting the bypass road in survey numbers 392/1, 3, 4, 8, 9 and 10 in Atmakur village in Mangalagiri in Amaravati Capital. Former CM Chandrababu Naidu has been coming daily to the office to take part in party activities for over 7 to 8 hours.

The TDP leader told the DGP that a large number of their party leaders and activists were coming to the party office everyday. All the necessary safeguards were required to be taken against this backdrop to ensure full security.
