YCP claims on unemployment rate laughable: TDP

Why 385 jobless youth committed suicide, asks Ashok Babu
Unemployment rose from 4% to 20.5% under Jagan rule
AMARAVATI: TDP MLC P. Ashok Babu on Wednesday termed it as laughable that the ruling YSRCP leaders were making false claims about a declining trend in unemployment rate in Andhra Pradesh under the Jagan Reddy regime.
Ashok Babu asked why over 385 jobless youth committed suicide when unemployment rate had come down as per the Government’s claims. Ever since coming to power, CM Jaganmohan Reddy and his Ministers were maligning the image of AP by spreading falsehoods and naked lies.
In a statement here, the TDP MLC said that the ruling YSRCP had started false propaganda as it was unable to keep its countless promises that brought Jagan Reddy to power in 2019.
Ashok Babu demanded the Government to explain whether unemployment came down just with filling of small time volunteer jobs or the politically motivated Advisor posts. As per the Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy reports, unemployment rose from 4.0 percent in 2019 to 20.5 percent by April, 2020. Joblessness problem was very low under the previous Chandrababu rule because of industrial and economic development.
The TDP MLC recalled how Jagan Reddy toured the whole State before the elections and held out a promise to the people that he would fill all the 2.30 lakh vacancies after coming to power. The CM also spread lies at that time, saying that there were already 2.30 lakh job vacancies left unfilled by the TDP regime. Jagan Reddy had not given any job notification in the past three years of his regime.
Ashok Babu slammed the ruling YSRCP for ‘driving away’ even existing industries instead of making efforts to attract new investments. Many companies had shifted their operations to the neighbouring States. The YCP leaders were creating terror among the industrialists in order to collect commissions.
The TDP MLC asked the Chief Minister and his Advisors to explain how the unemployment problem could be solved without releasing new job notifications and without attracting new industries. The YSRCP leaders would not be able to misguide and cheat the people forever. The Jagan regime would have to face serious repercussions for all its omissions and commissions in future.
