Nakka Ananda Babu
Amaravathi, Oct 26: The former minister and senior TDP leader, Mr Nakka Ananda Babu, on Wednesday expressed anger at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) terming it as a sister concern of the ruling YSRCP.
Mr Nakka Ananda Babu told media persons at the party headquarters here that the CID’s existence is only to file false cases against the TDP leaders and to harass them. The Jagan Mohan Reddy Government is utilising the services of the agency only to subject the TDP leaders to custodial torture, Mr Ananda Babu stated.
Maintaining that the CID is a State police wing and the officials should act independently, the former minister felt that but the ruling YSRCP is utilising it as one of its functionaries. The CID is maintaining total silence even on several critical cases, Mr Nakka Ananda Babu observed.
” It is so ironical that when some TDP activists post something against the ruling party in the social media, the CID is filing the FIR against them and is conducting raids on them during night time,” he rediculed. No one is aware whether the persons coming to their houses during night time are the YSRCP goondas or the CID officials, he remarked.
As per the Supreme Court guidelines, the officials should wear a badge and uniform while investing a case. They are not showing even their identity cards when they are taking the TDP activists into custody, he noted.
Mr Nakka Ananda Babu believes that the whole process is under the directions from the Chief Minister, Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy, and his advisor, Mr Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy. The chief of the CID wing. Mr Sunil Kumar, should take the responsibility for the whole issues, he felt.
The TDP leader said that Mr Sunil Kumar, who is a Dalit, is using several Dalit officials to harass the community leaders and this will have a major impact on the community in the future. Observing that one will not remain in power permanently, Mr Anand Babu said that such officials will have to pay a heavy price in future for their misdeeds. Making it clear that the TDP is not finding fault with the whole police department, he said only those who are crossing the thin line are being blamed.
Though the TDP made over 300 complaints, till now action has not been initiated even in a single case, he pointed out. The police officers are forgetting the fact that the law is equal for all, Mr Ananda Babu said adding that the Indian Penal Code is no longer in existence in the State. The ruling party should stop immediately taking personal vengeance against the TDP leaders, he said.
Dalits are being subjected to various kinds of atrocities in the State, the TDP leader said. Maintaining that the day is not too far when Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy will repent for the blunders that he had committed, Mr Nakka Ananda Babu expressed confidence that the TDP will be back in power in just one-and-half year.
He made it clear that the farmers of Amaravati will go ahead with their pada yatra despite the problems being created by the ruling party.
