CM tearing mangalsutras of women, says TDP

-No prohibition while J-brands ruined poor families: TD MLA
-Jagan brought Rs 33,000 Cr loans on liquor sales: Anagani

AMARAVATI: TDP Repalle MLA Anagani Satya Prasad on Monday slammed Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy for ‘tearing apart’ the mangalsutras of poor women with his J-brands of cheap liquor.
Satya Prasad said that the Chief Minister had betrayed his own promise of total prohibition by bringing Rs. 33,000 Cr of loans by showing liquor income as guarantee.

Addressing a press conference here, the TDP MLA deplored that Jagan Reddy had turned into a ‘jalaga’ (leech) and started sucking the blood of poor families by selling liquor at very high rates. The women of all sections of AP should teach a strong lesson to the CM for his liquor betrayals.

Satya Prasad pointed out that Jagan Reddy wooed the votes by making a false promise of prohibition to women in 2019. Now, he mortgaged cheap liquor brands to bring Rs. 8,000 Cr of loans. Already, the liquor income was mortgaged for 15 years to bring Rs. 25,000 Cr of loans through the AP State Development Corporation (SDC).

The TDP MLA said the Jagan Government had set a target of getting Rs. 30,000 Cr income on liquor this year. This meant that they were aiming at squeezing poor people’s blood for over Rs. 66,000 Cr. The Government agreed to the condition of having to liquidate liquor bonds if it imposed even partial prohibition. This was only to get Rs. 8,000 Cr loans.

Satya Prasad questioned the rationale behind bringing massive loans at 9.5 percent interest. It was a shame that Jagan Reddy was spreading lies in his Sakshi paper that liquor sales and income were coming down in the State every year. In reality, they were going up every year.

The TDP MLA said that the digital payments were not being accepted at the Government liquor shops only to divert the income into the personal treasury of the YCP rulers. The Jagan team was in the habit of showing wrong accounts and then spending months in prisons. It would be possible only for Jagan Reddy to make the teachers sell liquor.

Satya Prasad appealed to the women to punish the Jagan Reddy regime strongly for its liquor betrayals. Countless families were perishing in the State because of harmful cheap liquor brands that were being sold at unreasonably high costs.
