DGP Anjani Kumar observed that better traffic regulation can be implemented only when every person in the society is involved in traffic control. DGP unveiled book titled ‘Traffic Accident – Investigation’ written by Retired Police Officer Sri Tirupati Reddy at a program organized at the DGP’s office. Retired Director of National Police Academy Sri Kamal Kumar, Additional DGs Sri B Shivadhar Reddy, Sri K Srinivasa Reddy, Smt Abhilash Bisht, Sri Sanjay Kumar Jain, Sri M Ramesh, Dr Tarun Joshi, Sri VB Kamlasan Reddy, Sri S Chandrasekhar Reddy and other senior police officers attended the book launch event.
Speaking on this occasion, the DGP said that the traffic control in Hyderabad is better as compared to the major cities of the country. The proof of this is the large scale foreign investments coming to the city of Hyderabad, he said.
Rapid urbanization has become a challenge for traffic control. In given situation, every citizen is advised to follow the traffic rules and regulations voluntarily. He said that the crimes faced by the police department such as physical assaults, thefts and other crimes are related to individuals, but traffic accidents cause problems for everyone.
This book written by Tirupati Reddy was praised as useful for Telangana Police officers.
Sri Kamal Kumar, IPS retired Director of the National Police Academy, said that 4.5 lakh people are involved in road accidents every year in the country, out of which about one lakh people die. He said that the victims of accidents are only giving priority to claim the insurance amount but they are neglecting the investigation of the accident and the punishment of the culprits. Kamal Kumar said that road accidents will be reduced only when the cases of traffic accidents are properly investigated and punished. He said that this book written by Tirupati Reddy will be useful for traffic accident investigation officers.
On this occasion, DGP Anjani Kumar and Kamal Kumar honoured Sri Tirupathi Reddy, the author of the book. Additional DG B Shivadhar Reddy welcomed the program and Sanjay Kumar Jain concluded the meeting with vote of thanx.
