Palamaner, Jan 30: “It is only the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) that provides the maximum opportunities for the youth in politics and I will take the responsibility to give them the maximum chances in politics once our party is back in power,” said Mr Nara Lokesh, the TDP national general secretary at Palamaner on Monday.
Mr Lokesh had an interaction with the youth along his pada yatra ‘Yuva Galam’ on Monday and said that after the YSRCP came to power the youth are the worst sufferers as there are no employment opportunities and even the fee-reimbursement is discontinued. The youth present there totally agreed with Mr Lokesh and walked along with him.
“So, let us all work to dethrone this psycho rule and bring back the cycle regime. Yuva Galam is an opportunity for us all now and let us utilise it,” the youth present at the pada yatra gave a call to the young generation in the State. They also complained that the jobless youth are migrating to the neighbouring States in search of employment which is causing a great concern to their parents. Some of them said that if they raise their voice that there are no employment opportunities, police cases are being registered against them.
Responding to this, Mr Lokesh promised that once the TDP is back in power no more migrations will be there as every possible measure will be initiated to provide employment to the youth. “I am assuring all of you that industries will be set up at Palamaner which will create jobs. Also, Mr Lokesh said that the youth will be encouraged to join politics as it is the TDP that always provided opportunities for them.
Earlier, Mr Lokesh had a meeting with the Vaddera union at Gandharamakulapalle where the members of the community said that there is no recognition for them either economically or politically. The elders of the community also expressed concern that their children are migrating to other States, sometimes other countries in search of employment and that they are not getting any funds from the federation.
All of the Vaddera community leaders wanted that they be included in the list of Scheduled Tribes (STs) and that scholarships be paid to the students of their community. Responding to their appeals, Mr Lokesh said that Mr Chandrababu Naidu, during his tenure, set up the Satyapal Committee to study the problems of Vadderas and said that the panel submitted its report only recently. He asked as to why the committee report has not been published yet.
Observing that the Vaddera community should be included in the STs and asked why they are continuing in the Backward Classes (BCs) list. Mr Lokesh felt an immediate need for launching welfare schemes for the community and promised that once the TDP comes back to power all the necessary steps will be taken to resolve their problems. “Mr Chandrababu has allocated Rs 70 cr for the welfare of the community,” he said, adding that the people from Kuppam and Palamaner are migrating to Karnataka as life has become very expensive in the State.
“Leave alone setting up new companies in the State, the existing ones which launched their units here during the Chandrababu Naidu rule, are leaving the State due to harassment and imposition of heavy taxes by this Government,” Mr Lokesh observed. The people in general, industrialists in particular, are losing heavily with the heavy taxes imposed on them, he added.
Stating that he will fulfill all the promises that he is making now, Mr Lokesh said “I never utter lies like the Chief Minister, Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy. I make a promise only that I can fulfill,” he observed.
Passing through Panthas Halli on the Andhra Pradesh-Karnataka border, Mr Lokesh filled his car and other vehicles in his convoy with petrol and paid the bill from his pocket. Later, he explained the difference in the prices of petrol and diesel in Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. “While the price of petrol per litre in Karnataka is Rs 102, it is Rs 111.50 in Andhra Pradesh while the diesel per litre in Karnataka is Rs 88 as against Rs 99.27 in Andhra Pradesh,” Mr Lokesh explained.
