Jagan came to power by uttering lies: Ramanaidu

The TDP MLA, Mr Nimmala Ramanaidu, on Tuesday felt that the Chief Minister, Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy, came to power by making false promises to the people of the State during his pada yatra and now both education and medicare have become a distant dream to the people.

Mr Ramanaidu told media persons here that both education and medicate that are essential for everyone are not available for the common man now. Stating that during Mr Chandrababu Naidu’s regime, the State stood in third position in giving quality education for all and this is mentioned in the NITI Ayog report itself. But, after Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy came to power, it fell to 19th position in 2020-21 and the Chief Minister should have explained the reasons to the Assembly, he stated.

Education which should be given top priority is being completely neglected, he said and asked as to why the Chief Minister failed to mention the poor SSC results issue on the floor of the Assembly. While 94.80 pass percentage was recorded in 2018 when Mr Chandrababu Naidu was the chief minister it fell to 67.26 percentage in 2022 and Mr Jagan would have explained the reasons for this in the Assembly, he said.

The TDP MLA believes that the poor pass percentage in the SSC exams is the result of several teacher posts still vacant in almost all the schools in the State. What happened to the promise made by Mr Jagan before the last elections that Mega DSC would be held , he asked and pointed out that not even a single DSC has been conducted in the past three years. During Mr Chandrababu regime, 2.70 lakh teacher posts were filled, he added.

It is shameful that the teachers have been asked to clean the toilets and upload the photos, he said and demanded that the harassment of teaching community be stopped immediately. The MLA felt tat as the primary schools are being merged with high schools, at least 11,000 educational institutions, across the State, including 41 primary schools in Palakole Assembly segment alone, are facing closure threat.

Naadu-Nedu programme is filled with corruption and the public money is being misused. The Central Government too is adopting a national policy on schools and the BJP-ruled States too are not adopting the merger system, he mentioned. Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy discontinued the fee-reimbursement system which was introduced by his father, the late Mr YS Rajasekhara Reddy, he said and dared the State Government to come for an open debate on this.

Mr Nimmala Ramanaidu said that medicare in the State is on the ventilator and the NITI Ayog reports on this is a clear indication on this. There is no supervision on the functioning of the government hospitals and even gang-rapes are being reported in these hospitals and the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CRPF) is not being implemented properly, he stated. Mr Ramanaidu strongly believes that the people will soon thoroughly expose these failures of the State Government on education and medicare.
