CBI completed probe in a cavalier manner: Ramaiah
No answer yet on ‘Who killed babai?’
AMARAVATI: TDP Politburo Member Varla Ramaiah on Friday urged Chief Minister Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy to demand the Central Bureau of Investigation for a detailed re-investigation into the YS Vivekananda Reddy murder case so as to nab the real culprits.
Ramaiah told the Chief Minister that the CBI completed its investigation in a cavalier manner without giving details of the arrested persons and the masterminds behind them. The people were saying that the CBI should not dilute its image by filing a non-serious charge sheet by some little known persons without fully cracking the murdery mystery.
In a letter to CM Jagan Reddy here, the TDP leader said that the CBI team had been trying to wash its hands of the case. The present CBI Director has been known for his integrity and commitment. The CM should asked for taking a thorough relook into the Viveka murder case. The CBI also had a bounden responsibility to ensure a transparent investigation thereby to win the credibility and trust of the people.
Ramaiah said that the whole State eagerly waited to know ‘who killed babai.’ YS Vivekananda Reddy was not just babai of CM Jagan Reddy but also a former Member of Parliament, brother of former CM YS Rajasekhara Reddy and father of Dr. Suneetha Reddy. The whole State was saying that the family insiders eliminated Vivekananda Reddy for obvious reasons. About two years ago, during the wee hours, Viveka was hacked to death in the bathroom in his own residence in Pulivendula.
The TDP leader demanded that the CM should express his opinion on the just completed investigation of the CBI. While the whole State had one opinion, the CBI investigation went totally in a contrary direction. Jagan Reddy should recall how the Viveka murder took different twists. The media had also changed their versions. First it was reported as a natural death due to heart attack. Then, the motive was changed to murder by hacking.
Ramaiah said that the Chief Minister himself at that time made allegations that Chandrababu Naidu, Nara Lokesh and former Minister Adinarayana Reddy were responsible for the murder. Jagan Reddy also demanded a CBI probe before the elections but after coming to power, the CM withdrew his court petition saying there was no need for a CBI investigation. There were many missing links and points of suspicion that remained unanswered after the CBI probe.
The TDP leader asked why the CBI did not question the Chief Minister despite the fact that he filed a petition in the High Court and later withdrew the same. Why was it that the YS family divided into two over absence of a credible investigation into the Viveka murder? While the Pulivendula people were talking about the family divisions between Jagan Reddy and his sister, the CBI just named some four persons and tried to close the issue.
