Lokesh doubts police existence in AP

TDP woman leader attacked for criticising Anil
YCP goons attacked Revathi near police station

AMARAVATI: TDP national general secretary Nara Lokesh on Sunday condemned the latest attack by the ruling YSRCP goons on TDP leader Revathi near Santapeta police station in Nellore city.

Lokesh said Revathi and her husband were victimised just for passing some counter comments against former Minister P. Anil Kumar Yadav.

In a statement here, the TDP MLC said the YCP leaders were growing insecure and launching attacks just for questioning the Government’s policies. Revathi’s husband was called to the police station where he was being harassed. When she was going to ask about this, the ruling party goons attacked her near the police station.

Lokesh said doubts were arising whether the police force still existed in the State. Immediate action should be taken against the YCP miscreants who attacked Revathi and against the police who harassed her husband.

Nara Lokesh termed it ‘unfortunate’ that the law and order situation was deteriorating to the most alarming levels in Andhra Pradesh. The police were watching like silent spectators as goons and criminals were violently targetting political rivals, weaker sections, backward classes, women, youth and employees.

Lokesh released videos showing Revathi narrating how she was attacked and injured. She was also threatened by knife-wielding goons. She questioned about safety to common women when goons attacked an activist like her near the police station even as the DGP was on a visit to Nellore.
