Lokesh urges Govt not to hike RTC charges

-Jagan ‘Badude Badudu’ crossing all limits
-2 hikes in 3 years rule condemnable

AMARAVATI: TDP national general secretary Nara Lokesh on Wednesday demanded the YSRCP Government to withdraw its decision to hike RTC charges considering the financial problems of the people.

Lokesh termed it as condemnable on the part of the Jagan Reddy regime to increase RTC charges twice within three years of coming to power.

In a statement here, the TDP MLC said the people of Andhra Pradesh were not in a position to bear additional financial burdens any more. The ‘Badude Badudu’ squeezing policy of the Jagan regime has made the lives of the common public miserable. While existing charges and taxes were increased abnormally, new taxes were being imposed on garbage and so on.

Nara Lokesh advised Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy to stop his policy of giving ten rupees with the right hand and snatching away hundred rupees with the left hand. The people were suffering due to J-tax collections from garbage, house tax, current charges, petrol, diesel rates and now RTC charges.

Lokesh strongly objected to the Government’s decision to hike RTC charges from ‘palle velugu’ to AC buses. The high rates of ‘palle velugu’ bus tickets would put an unbearable burden on the common public. Already, the AP people were suffering a lot due to the hike in current charges for seven times in just three years.
