Measures for BC welfare: TDP dares Jagan to come for open debate

Amaravathi, Oct 28: The TDP politburo member, Mr Chintakayala Ayyannapatrudu, on Friday advised the Chief Minister, Mr YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, to immediately stop showing false affection towards the Backward Classes (BCs) in the State.

Mr Ayyannapatrudu told media persons at the party headquarters here that it was the TDP that always stood by the BCs. It is really surprising that Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy could think of the BCs three years after coming to power.

Maintaining that the whole family of Mr Jagan is taking pleasure in killing the members of the BC community, the TDP leader asked is it not Mr YS Raja Reddy, the grandfather of Mr Jagan, who was behind the killing of one Mr Jinka Venkata Nrasaiah, to illegally occupy the barytes mines. Now Mr Jagan is enjoying those mines, he said and stated that Mr Jagan should immediately resign from his post as he is surviving on BCs assets.

Mr Jagan has done nothing for the welfare of the community, Mr Ayyannapatrudu said and observed that though some BC leaders are holding certain posts only for name sake, Reddy’s are ruling the roost in these wings.

In fact, Reddys are dominating the whole State, he said pointing out that the YSRCP MP, Mr Vijayasai Reddy, was the incharge for North Andhra till recently and now another YSRCP leader, Mr YV Subba Reddy, replaced him now. While Mr Mithun Reddy is the incharge for the both the combined Godavari districts, Mr Rami Reddy is for Guntur and Krishna districts, Mr Pratap Reddy is the incharge for Prakasam, Nellore and Kurnool. Similarly, Mr Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy is the incharge for Anantapur, Kadapa and Chittoor districts, he pointed out.

All these Reddy incharges have been given full powers to loot their respective districts, Mr Ayyannapatrudu said. If anyone questions them false cases are being foisted against such persons and Mr Jagan should come out with facts on what his Government has done for the BCs welfare in the State, he added.

If Mr Jagan is really serious about this and if he has taken any measures for the welfare of the community, he should come for an open debate on this, Mr Ayyannapatrudu observed. He asked why the BC leaders in the ruling YSRCP are not raising their voice when injustice is done for the community.

What is the use of forming 56 corporations when funds are not released for even a single corporation, he asked. The Jagan Reddy Government has diverted Rs 36,000 cr funds meant from the BC Welfare Corporation and the Adarana scheme meant for the welfare of the community has been withdrawn, the TDP leader said.

Leave alone the welfare of BCs, the community leaders are being subjected to various kinds of harassment and the ruling party is adopting a vengeful attitude towards them, Mr Ayyannapatrudu said. Even since the YSRCP came to power, the community is feeling totally insecure as 24 BC leaders have been done to death after Mr Jagan came to power. “The relevant records are with the local police stations and fake cases have been registered against as many as 2,650 BC leaders ,” he added.

Even the Central funds meant for BC welfare are being diverted, he said and dared the YSRCP to come for an open debate on all these issues. The sarpanches too have no powers now and the panchayats are not in a position to pay even their power bills, the TDP politburo member noted.

Maintaining that Mr Vijayasai Reddy illegally occupied assets worth over Rs 45,000 cr in Visakhapatnam, he said that when the victims of Rishikonda are protesting they are being taken into custody and are being harassed.

Calling upon the BC community across the State to come onto a common platform to fight for their rights, Mr Ayyannapatrudu demanded the State Government to release a white paper on the welfare measures taken till now by the ruling dispensation.
