-Naidu urges DGP to restore order in Kuppam
-YCP henchmen made brutal attacks on TDP leaders
-Police yet to take action against culprits
AMARAVATI: TDP National President and former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday urged the DGP of AP to take stringent action against the culprits responsible for the brutal attacks on the TDP leaders in Kuppam assembly segment in Chittoor district.
In a letter to the DGP here, Naidu stressed the need for maintaining law and order in order
to restore the people’s faith in democracy. The ruling YSRCP henchmen victimized the opposition TDP leaders but there has been no action from the police there.
Expressing serious concern, the TDP chief said: “It has been brought to my notice about the brutal and uncivilized attack by YSRCP henchmen on TDP leaders in Kuppam, on 10th January 2022. Two TDP leaders, Lokesh and Saravan were attacked during broad daylight by the YSRCP goons in Kuppam town. Not only were they attacked but also one of them, Lokesh, was prevented from joining in the hospital to get treatment.”
Naidu told the DGP that such cruel attacks were carried out by the YSRCP henchmen only to deter the TDP leaders from raising illegal mining issues. These attacks have not only eclipsed fundamental rights enshrined in the constitution but are also a blot on our democracy.
Chandrababu Naidu said that in this context, it is essential that law and order should be maintained in order to ensure that people can live in a safe and secured environment. Therefore, stringent action has to be taken against the culprits and ensure that appropriate treatment is provided to the victims, Lokesh and Saravan.
