Education can alone eradicate poverty, said Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Tuesday while addressing a public meeting in Adoni after launching the distribution of Jagananna Vidya Kanuka (JVK) kits for the academic year 2022-23. The JVK kits will be distributed to 47,40,421 students studying from first standard to tenth in government and aided schools. The YSRCP government spent Rs 931.02 crore towards JVK.
The CM stated that each JVK kit is worth Rs 2,000. “In the last three years, our government had spent Rs 2,368 crore towards JVK scheme,” he mentioned and added that his government is spending another Rs 500 crore for providing tabs to students from eighth standard with content provided by BYJU’s.
Earlier, MLA Y. Sai Prasad Reddy requested the CM to open government degree college to Adoni. On his request, the CM sanctioned government degree college. Jagan Reddy also released 2022-23 academic calendar for schools in the state.
