-Jagan Reddy should resign over CBI visit: Bandaru
-CBI took measurements at Jagan, Avinash houses
AMARAVATI: TDP former Minister Bandaru Satyanarayana Murthy on Wednesday demanded the resignation of Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy following the CBI officers’ visit to his (CM’s) Pulivendula house as part of ‘YS Viveka’ murder probe.
Satyanarayana Murthy said the Chief Minister obviously became a suspect in his own ‘babai murder’ as the CBI officers took measurements at his house in his Pulivendula assembly constituency in Kadapa district.
Addressing a press conference here, the TDP leader said that only yesterday, the same CBI officers took measurements at the house of YSRCP MP Avinash Reddy, who was the main suspect. Without the role of CM Jagan Reddy, it would not be possible for Avinash Reddy and his father Bhasker Reddy to eliminate Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy, who was brother to former CM YSR and babai to present CM of AP.
Satyanarayana Murthy also demanded the CBI to cancel the 8-year-old bail on which Jagan Mohan Reddy was able to continue as the AP CM for the past three years. The CBI should arrest Jagan Reddy so as to ensure a fair probe in the Viveka murder and also in the illegal assets cases.
The TDP leader recalled how Jagan Reddy got a case filed against the CBI officials and made them come to the police station personally. Moreover, the Pulivendula Jagan gangs had even threatened the CBI officers’ car driver and issued death threats to them if they continued their probe into the Viveka murder.
Satyanarayana Murthy asserted that Jagan Reddy had no moral right to continue as CM anymore. He should be arrested if justice had to be done to Sunitha Reddy, who has been fighting a legal battle on her father Viveka murder case.
Slamming the CBI attitude, the TDP leader asked why they were not taking Jagan Reddy into custody when there were instances when CMs were arrested just because their names were there in FIRs in ED and enforcement cases. How could Jagan Reddy be allowed to continue on bail for seven to eight years?
Satyanarayana Murthy said Jagan’s role was confirmed from the fact that he first demanded CBI probe into Viveka murder and, after coming to power, he said there was no need for CBI probe. Two to three SITs formed by the Jagan Government had only tried to protect the culprits in the Viveka killing.
