-Steps needed to prevent alienation of police land
-Varla writes to DGP on Chandragiri land mafia
AMARAVATI: TDP politburo member Varla Ramaiah on Sunday urged the DGP of AP to protect the police land from ‘illegal occupation’ of the ruling YSRCP leaders in Chandragiri town in Tirupati district.
In a letter to the DGP here, Ramaiah stressed the need for taking immediate steps to prevent alienation of the said police land by the ruling party leaders. Action should be taken against the trespassers at the earliest.
The TDP leaders said that the ruling YSRCP leaders were attempting to illegally occupy land in Chandragiri earmarked for the police department. It is sad that the land mafia of the ruling YSRCP has laid its eyes on the police land in the name of taking land for the party office of ruling YSRCP. This has not only created panic among the police personnel, but also among the general public.
Ramaiah said that the YSRCP MLA appeared to have secretly conducted bhoomi pooja in the police land by criminally trespassing. However, as per the Government records the said land belongs to the police department and it was earlier proposed to construct a function hall for the welfare of the police.
The TDP leader said that in this regard, it is appealed to take stringent action against the criminal trespassers so as to deter anyone in the future from trespassing into police land. As the head of the police, it is your duty and responsibility to safeguard and protect the property of the police department.
Ramaiah said that if ignored, the same land mafia people will even dare to occupy police parade grounds and police stations too. Hence, it is once again appealed to prevent alienation of land in Chandragiri in the interest of police personnel.
