Addl DG narrated fabricated stories prepared by Tadepalle Palace, says Bonda Uma

Amaravathi, Jan 11: The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) politburo member and former MLA, Mr Bonda Umamaheswara Rao, on Wednesday came down heavily on the State police for violating the fundamental rights of the citizens of the State only to favour the ruling dispensation.

Talking to media persons at the party headquarters here, Mr Bonda Umamaheswara Rao asked what right the State police force has to stifle the voice of the common public to favour the ruling party which is bringing in GOs that are totally outdated. “What explanation the Additional Director General of Police, Mr Ravi Shankar Ayyanar, has given on Tuesday with regard to GO-1 is nothing but a script prepared by the Tadepalle Palace,” Mr Bonda Uma said.

Since the people of the State are detesting both the YSRCP Government and the police force, Mr Ravi Shankar, left with no option narrated some cock and bull stories on Tuesday, the TDP politburo member felt. He demanded Mr Ravi Shankar to explain as to why the TDP national president, Mr Nara Chandrababu Naidu, was obstructed on the border much before he reached Kuppam.

“The way the Kuppam Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) created hurdles to a former chief minister and Leader of the Opposition is highly objectionable,” Mr Uma said and wanted to know whether the Additional DG and the DGP did not observe this. How the police, after giving permission for Mr Chandrababu’s tour, can create hurdles for him in Kuppam, he asked.

Mr Ravi Shankar should explain under whose directions the police created problems to Mr Chandrababu, who won seven times as MLA from the constituency, he said. Mr Uma also wanted to know as to why the campaigning vehicle was seized and till now it is not released.

The police miserably failed to provide proper security at Kandukur and Guntur despite knowing well that the gathering would be very heavy to Mr Chandrababu’s meetings, Mr Bonda Uma said, adding that the police could not control the massive crowd at Guntur. Though proper prior permission was taken for the Guntur meeting, the police miserably failed to provide necessary security which resulted in the unpleasant incident, he observed.

Are the political parties organising public meetings and road shows only after Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy became the Chief Minister, he asked and questioned whether the then Chandrababu government did not provide proper security to Mr Jagan’s pada yatra. The then TDP government discharged its bounden duty but now the State Government is creating obstructions for every meeting of Mr Chandrababu, he maintained.

Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy promulgated the GO No-1 only to suppress the public voice of the public and it reminds one of the Britishers rule, Mr Bonda Umamaheswara Rao said and stated that the police too are blindly supporting the Government only to stifle the voice of the Opposition parties. The TDP politburo member felt that the action of Mr Jagan will finally prove costly to him.

Why the TDP state SC Cell president, Mr MS Raju, was not allowed to participate in Chalo Kavali agitation, he asked and said that the YSRCP settlement gang attacked innocent women who came onto the road to demand payment of pension.

Mr Bonda Umamaheswara Rao expressed confidence that the police will allow the pada yatra of the TDP national general secretary, Mr Nara Lokesh, as permission has already been obtained. The Chittoor District Superintendent of Police has already been informed of the matter, he added.
