Vijayawada, April 14: Andhra Pradesh Governor Sri Bishwabhushan Harichandan conveyed his greetings to the Jain community on the occasion of Mahavir Jayanti and said that the teachings of Bhagwan Mahavir, who preached the essence of life, virtue and non-violence towards all living beings are eternal. Officials of Andhra Pradesh Jain Samaj called on the Governor at the Raj Bhavan here on Thursday, to mark the Mahavir Jayanti celebrations.
Governor Sri Bishwabhushan Harichandan said that the Mahavir Jayanti is a sacred festival for Jain community and celebrated by followers across the world. The Governor said that the teachings of Bhagwan Mahavir would be effective only when they were put into practice by all.
The Governor was felicitated on behalf of the Jain Samaj by a delegation of the Jain Samaj consisting of Sri Manoj Kothari, Sri Pabnalal Jain, Sri Sukraj Jain, Sri Dinesh Jain, Sri Kishore Jain, Sri Narendra Jain, Sri Ashok Kumar. Sri R.P. Sisodia, Special Chief Secretary to Governor was also present on the occasion.
