Hyderabad: Bonalu festival celebrations will commence from June 30. Disclosing this, Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav said that Golkonda Bonalu will start from June 30, Secunderabad Bonalu from July 17, Rangam Bonalu from July 18 and Hyderabad Bonalu from July 24.
Due to Covid-19 pandemic, Bonalu festival was celebeated in a low-key manner. But this year, the festival will be celebrated on a grand scale and the State government has
sanctioned Rs 15 crore for conducting the festival, the Minister informed. He said that financial assistance will be provided to 3,000 private temples along with government temples.
The GHMC will take up road repair works and sanitation department will ensure clean premises of the temples. The government will present ‘silk clothes’ to about 26 temples. Heavy police security will be arranged along with CCTV cameras to avoid any untoward incidents during the festivities.
