Govt syndicates boosting Bharati Cement profits: TDP

-Cement rate hiked again to benefit Bharati Cement: Kishore
-Common public suffering under Jagan misrule

AMARAVATI: TDP general secretary Nallari Kishore Kumar Reddy on Saturday accused the YSRCP Government of forming syndicates in order to hike rates and increase commercial profits for Bharati Cements.Kishore Kumar Reddy deplored that Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy was acting like a brand ambassador for the cement company running in his wife’s name.

In a statement here, the TDP leader said the common public were suffering greatly due to skyrocketing prices ever since the YCP came to power. The construction sector collapsed due to rampant sand mafia. Over 40 lakh construction workers’ lives were thrown on the roads due to lack of work opportunities.

Kishore Kumar Reddy said the latest cement price increase by Rs. 60 would impose an unbearable burden on the already collapsed construction industry. The prices were being increased as per their whims only to create undue favours for Bharati Cements. A lion’s share of cement orders for the Government works were being given to Bharati Cements.

The TDP leader asked whether it was not a blatant misuse of power to most cement orders to the CM’s family company. Jagan Reddy set up Bharati Cements by using the quid pro quo money. They were looting the public by increasing rates indiscriminately.

Kishore recalled how Chandrababu Naidu controlled cement prices by forming a sub committee of the Ministers. Why was Jagan Reddy not taking any steps to make Bharati Cements and other companies to lower their rates? The people were being punished with greater burdens while there was zero development in the State in the past three years.

The TDP leader said a tractor load of sand cost Rs. 1,500 during the TDP rule but now it rose to Rs. 5,000. The AP sand was being illegally transported to other States to make huge easy money. Over Rs. 10,000 Cr fraud was taking place in just sand alone. Another 5-year term Rs. 25,000 Cr fraud was going on successfully in sale of cheap and most harmful liquor.

Kishore said the CM was not changing his mindset though the AP people were unable to bear price rise due to highest rates of petrol and diesel prevailing in the State. Current charges were increased six times. RTC, registration charges, stamp duty and professional tax have been hiked.
