Give Covid holidays for schools: TDP to Govt

CM not coming out of Tadepalli palace

AMARAVATI: TDP MLC M. Satyanarayana Raju on Thursday asked why the Jaganmohan Reddy Government was not declaring school holidays when over 12 States across the country had already closed down their schools due to Covid threat.

Satyanarayana Raju said the adamant and arrogant attitude of the Chief Minister was causing serious threat to the lives of lakhs of innocent students, their parents and teachers and their family members. Jagan Reddy, his Ministers and Advisors would not come out of their homes but they were forcing the students to come out to attend schools.

In a statement here, the TDP MLC pointed out that the Coronavirus cases were increasing each day in the State. However, CM Jagan was playing dangerous games with the lives of

Satyanarayana Raju said that the experts and doctors were cautioning about a steep rise in Covid-19 infections in the next three weeks. Where was the need for opening schools at the cost of students’ lives under these threatening circumstances? The Chief Minister would not come out of his Tadepalli palace. Why should the students change buses and travel several kilometers to attend schools?

The TDP MLC deplored that in the first wave of Coronavirus, the YSRCP Government’s inefficiency caused the death of thousands of people. Greater loss of life would be caused now if proper preventive measures were not taken.

Satyanarayana Raju slammed the Government for not taking any steps to provide oxygen beds and medicines for Corona patients in the hospitals even now. The YSRCP Ministers and MLAs and leaders were going to other States for Covid treatment. They were not thinking about the problems of infected patients in the State.
