Kodali admitted to ‘casino guilt’, should resign: TDP

Casino held for first time on Indian soil in AP: Devineni Uma
YCP rule brought Goa culture to State

AMARAVATI: TDP former Minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao on Sunday asked Civil Supplies Minister Kodali Venkateswara Rao (Nani) to resign as he has admitted to his ‘involvement’ in running the illegal Gudivada casino.

Devineni Uma said videos circulating in the media clearly showed how the Minister commented whether his felicitation was for holding casino. Chief Minister Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy owed an explanation to the people of entire Andhra Pradesh on this issue.

Addressing a press conference here, the TDP leader pointed out that it was Kodali Nani who offered to resign and set himself afire with petrol if casino charges were proved against him. Why was the Chief Minister not dismissing the Minister even after the latest video evidence?

Devineni Uma said that for the first time in the entire country, casino gambling and dances were held on the Indian soil in AP. No other State Government and the police extended support to such unlawful activity. The ruling anarchic forces have finally brought Goa culture to AP.

The TDP leader asserted that a State-wide debate was going on how Rs. 500 Cr fraud was carried out in the Gudivada casino. The illegal event was held inside the Minister’s K. Convention Centre and in the lands abutting it. Kodali himself distributes pamphlets about this all over the State.

Devineni Uma accused the Chief Minister of running a ‘Casino Cabinet’ by using his Ministers to make easy money. Jagan Reddy personally visited Gudivada for bullock races during his first year of rule. In the second year, the CM allowed the Minister to continue despite allegations of running gambling den. Now, Jagan was not taking any action though Goa culture was brought here by the organisers of casino.

The TDP leader deplored that the Government was making false claims on purchase of paddy and supply of seed. The paddy dues were not being paid to the farmers. Kodali Nani should speak on the seizure of Rs. 100 Cr by the IT officials in Hyderabad. The funds were meant for real estate.

Expressing concern, Devineni Uma said there was a massive multi-crore fraud in the ‘cash and carry’ method of the Jagan regime in sand and liquor business. No clear accounts were being maintained for thousands of crores of transactions. Digital payments were not allowed in order to facilitate these frauds.
