Lokesh decries molestation of woman near Sattenapalli

AP turned into care of address for atrocities and attacks
Deplores lack of safety to women and girls
AMARAVATI: TDP National General Secretary and MLC Nara Lokesh on Thursday accused the Jaganmohan Reddy Government of turning Andhra Pradesh into a ‘care of address’ for atrocities and attacks on hapless women.
Mr. Lokesh condemned the latest attack on a couple and the molestation of the woman near Sattenapalli in Guntur district. The miscreants targetted the couple when they were going on a motorcycle from Guntur to Sattenapalli. The shocking incident took place amidst a raging debate on the rising atrocities and victimisation of girls and women in the State.

In a statement here, Mr. Nara lokesh termed it as shocking that the police refused to register the case and merely told the couple that the spot of incident was not located in their police station limits. They sent back the couple with advice to go to another police station. The Jagan Reddy regime was not taking expected action despite the increasing threat to safety and security of women.

Mr. Lokesh asked whether it was democratic to deploy thousands of policemen to foil his visit to Narasaraopet town when he was just going there to call on the family members of an atrocities victim. The Jagan Reddy rule was using the police for political vendetta but not for providing security to the people. The State was plunged into darkness and suffering just because the ruling YSRCP leaders were undermining the police and all other departments for their political advantage.
