Lokesh: Fake calendar caused ‘suicide’ of Emmiganur youth

Demands CM to release a real job calendar
Give 2.30 lakh Govt jobs to aspiring youth
Bright IIIT graduate hanged himself to YCP symbol
AMARAVATI: TDP National General Secretary and MLC Nara Lokesh on Monday demanded that the YSRCP Government release a fresh job calendar without wasting any more time in order to prevent the continuing suicides of young aspirants in the State.
Mr. Lokesh expressed grief over the latest suicide of a bright 25-year-old student who passed the 6-year course at the IIIT with good marks. Vuppara Veeranjaneyulu waited for long and went into a depression due to lack of job notifications. He took a saree and hanged himself to death from the ceiling fan at his parents’ residence at Yerrakota village in Emmiganur mandal in Kurnool district.
In a statement here, Mr. Nara Lokesh said the suicides of job aspirants would have stopped had the Chief Minister replaced his ‘fake calendar’ with a real ‘job calendar’ in the beginning itself. Andhra Pradesh had turned into ‘Aatmahatyala Pradesh’ under Jagan rule. The young aspirants voted for the ‘fan’ symbol believing that they would get 2.30 lakh Government jobs. But now, the situation turned ghastly as the same job aspirants were hanging themselves from the same fan due to lack of jobs.
Mr. Lokesh advised the Government to open its eyes to the deteriorating employment creation situation and initiate efforts to create some hope among the qualified youth. Assistance and support should be given to the family of Veeranjaneyulu. He studied hard and earned himself a good name as ‘a son of Goddess Saraswathi’. The life of a promising youth was cut short now because of the wrong policies of the rulers.
Mr. Nara Lokesh expressed concern that the hard working and intelligent youth were falling victim to the betrayals and false promises of the YSRCP. They were working hard to get degrees and spending time, money and energy on training courses. When there were no Government job notifications, they were getting depressed and taking extreme steps. The Jagan regime should take all the necessary steps so that another student should lose his life in the State.
In his appeal to the youth, Mr. Lokesh said that there should be no loss of hope or despair under any circumstances. Everybody should fight back and agitate for getting the Government jobs that they truly deserve. Nobody had the right to deprive the bright young generation of their golden opportunities that would suit their hard work and determination. It was tragic that Veeranjaneyulu waited so long and eventually ended his life after losing hope.
Mr. Lokesh shared media reports of how the Emmiganur student took the extreme despite his bright academic record. His parents helped in his studies since he was the brightest of the three children. Veeranjaneyulu appeared for the Group-2 examination but could not get the job. Later, he waited for a few years for the Government job notification. As his hopes were shattered, he ended his life. A pall of gloom descended on the village as the young man, whom they called ‘son of Goddess Saraswati’, became a victim of joblessness in the State.
The TDP leaders recalled how the Chief Minister made huge claims to take false credit for job creation through his job calendar a few months ago. It was high time for the CM to explain to people why his job calendar had failed to create any confidence among the highly qualified youth of AP. In the same Kurnool district, one Nagendra Prasad committed suicide at Gopalanagaram village in Pyapili mandal as his hopes of becoming a Government teacher got shattered. CM Jagan promised DSC job notification every year but he did not fulfil this once he was in his CM chair.
