Shazia Parveen awarded Gold Medal in NALSAR’s PG Cyber Laws

· Chief Justice of India N.V. Ramana awarded the Gold Medal at NALSAR’s 18th Convocation
· Shazia Parveen is the only candidate among 170 to pass the exams with Distinction
· She is the daughter of Congress leader Shabbir Ali & daughter-in-law of Retd IPS A.K. Khan

Hyderabad, December 20: In a remarkable achievement, Shazia Parveen of Hyderabad, received the Gold Medal for the Topper in the Post-Graduate Diploma in Cyber Laws course of the coveted NALSAR University of Law.

She was awarded the Gold Medal for the year 2020 by Chief Justice of India Justice N.V. Ramana at the 18th Annual Convocation of NALSAR University of Law on Sunday. Chief Justice of Telangana High Court Satish Chandra Sharma, Law Minister A. Indrakaran Reddy, Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Faizan Mustafa and Registrar Prof (Dr.) V. Balakista Reddy and other dignitaries addressed the Convocation. The Gold Medal has been instituted by Infotrack Systems (P) Ltd.,

With an overall aggregate of 77 and 88 marks in her specialization (Cyber Security & Cyber Crime), Ms Shazia Parveen lived up to her distinguished academic excellence. With a grand total of 309, she is the only candidate among 170 to pass the exams with Distinction.

Enrolled for practice in 2011, her career path has been consistently on the upswing. After doing her Internship under the highly respected Justice Sudarshan Reddy, Andhra Pradesh State Human Rights Commission and Department for International Development (DFID), British Council Ms Shazia Parveen is practising in the Telangana State High Court for more than 10 years. She is an associate of D. Prakash Reddy, former Advocate General of TS. She had also worked as an associate of senior advocate of the Supreme Court Dr. Abhishek Manu Singhvi.

Ms Shazia Parveen completed her Secondary and Higher Education (ICSE Board) from Nasr School, Hyderabad (2004-2006); did B.A. LLB (Hons) from NALSAR University of Law (2007-2011); a course on International Law – Contemporary Issues from London School of Economics and Political Science (2010); a short term course on legal writing from Harvard Law School (2013) and a certificate course on International Labour Migration: Economics, Politics and Ethics from Oxford University (2019).

Ms Shazia Parveen is the daughter of former minister & ex-Leader of Opposition in Legislative Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir and daughter-in-law of retired-IPS officer A.K. Khan. Her husband Mohsin Khan is an entrepreneur.

“I’m thankful to the Almighty Allah for my achievement. I thank my professors for their mentorship and my family for their encouragement. I always focussed on my studies and never bothered about the results. This helped me achieve good results without any mental pressure,” Ms Shazia Parveen said.

She said winning a Gold Medal in PG Cyber Laws course was indeed a great honour for her. She hoped that this achievement would help her build a great career in law.Ms Shazia
