Jagan had 151 MLAs but gave just 10 BC Ministers: Atchanna
TDP gave 9 BC Ministers with just 103 MLAs
NTR founded TDP for empowering BCs: Yanamala
Jagan suppressed BCs with iron hand
CM cut down BC quota from 34% to 24%
AMARAVATI: The TDP senior BC leaders and former Ministers on Monday demanded the Jagan Mohan Reddy Government to release a white paper on the welfare benefits and programmes implemented for the backward classes in the past three years.
TDP state president K. Atchannaidu, who presided over the Mahatma Jyotiba Phule birthday celebrations here, said while the TDP worked like a factory to create BC leaders, the Jagan regime suppressed and betrayed the backward classes at every step. Can the YCP leaders come for an open debate on their Government’s programmes for the BCs?
Atchannaidu said Jagan Reddy gave just 10 Ministers to the BCs though his party won 151 MLA seats. Whereas, the TDP gave 9 Ministers to the BCs despite the TDP winning a far lesser number of 103 MLAs. Chandrababu Naidu gave representation to 19 BC castes in the Assembly.
TDP former Ministers Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, Kollu Ravindra, former MP K. Narayana and other BC leaders spoke on the occasion. They asserted that Jagan Reddy would not be able to break the bond between the TDP and the BCs even if he would do ‘tapassu’ (penance) with head down and legs up. Whenever the polls would be held, the TDP would surely win 160 seats.
The TDP BC leaders said the only achievement of Jagan Reddy was to split AP into three pieces only to hand them over to Vijaya Sai Reddy, Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy and Y.V. Subba Reddy. The Jagan Reddy Government was the only one in history that had got the most discredited in a lesser period.
Expressing concern, the TDP leaders said the people were eagerly waiting for the elections to throw out the unjust rule and to bring back Rama Rajyam under the Chandrababu leadership. Jagan Reddy should explain whether the removed Ministers were corrupt or inefficient.
The TDP leaders slammed Jagan for reducing the BC reservations in local bodies from 34 percent to 24 percent. The Chief Minister had done extreme injustice to the backward classes by diverting the funds allocated for their welfare in the budget. It was the TDP only which had allocated and spent over Rs. 12,000 Cr under the BC sub plan.
The BC former Ministers asserted that NTR founded the TDP mainly for protecting the rights of the BCs. Prior to the emergence of the TDP on the political scene, there was no recognition for the backward classes. Over 20 percent reservations were made for the BCs in all Government programmes under the TDP.
The TDP leaders said that Jagan Mohan Reddy has been oppressing and suppressing the BC leaders and people under his iron leg. For various reasons, the YS family always targetted and victimised the BC communities. YSR set up BC federations but not allocated funds. Whereas, Jagan Reddy snatched away even the allocated funds of the BC corporations.
The opposition leaders challenged the ruling YSRCP leaders for a debate on the injustice being done to the BCs under the Jagan Reddy regime. It was the TDP alone which had brought many innovative programmes to rescue the BCs from backwardness. The YCP would get a dubious credit only for diverting the BC funds without any ethics.
