TDP decries police ‘attack’ on Maha Padayatra

Venkatagiri CI attacked Amaravati JAC Shiva: Dola
CM not able to break resolve of Amaravati farmers
AMARAVATI: TDP MLA Dola Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy lauded the determination and resolve of the Amaravati farmers in continuing their Maha Padayatra despite the non-stop hurdles being created by the Jaganmohan Reddy Government in Andhra Pradesh.
Swamy asserted that the ruling YSRCP was continuing its nefarious games despite having failed to break the confidence of the Capital City farmers at every step. The Chief Minister and his MLAs would not be able to stop the ‘Nyayasthanam to Devasthanam’ padayatra till they would do the injustice done to the 29,000 farmers who sacrificed their 34,000 acres for the Capital City.
In a statement here, the TDP MLA condemned the manner in which the YCP regime was using the police to suppress the Amaravati agitation. The attack by Venkatagiri CI Naga Malleswara Rao on Amaravati Parirakshana JAC member Shiva was highly condemnable. The police officials would face legal consequences if they blindly targetted the Amaravati activists to please their political bosses.
Veeranjaneya Swamy said that CI Naga Malleswara Rao launched an indiscriminate attack on Shiva. The side bones in his chest were fractured and nearly broken. Some police officers were becoming inhuman because of the ruling party’s vindictive and ruthless politics. The frustration of the YSRCP leaders was evident from this.
The TDP MLA pointed out that all sections of people were rolling out a red carpet welcome to the participants in the Maha Padayatra being carried out from Amaravati to Tirupati. The padayatra was aimed at seeking the blessings of Lord Balaji for the continuation of Amaravati as the one and only Capital City for all the 13 districts of Andhra Pradesh.
Veeranjaneya Swamy asserted that from the aged people to women to students, all were coming to express their solidarity to Maha Padayatra. CM Jagan Reddy had become green with envy and jealousy at the rising support to Amaravati farmers. Instead of correcting his mistakes, the CM was becoming more adamant and arrogant. He was instigating the police to do lathi charge and give threats to the Capital City agitators.
The TDP MLA said that the farmers were duly following the instructions of the court with regard to their Maha Padayatra. But, the police were not doing their lawful duty but they were only carrying out the ill-intentioned orders of the CM and his MLAs. The police and the Government would be held responsible if anything would happen to the health of Shiva. Jagan Reddy might hatch any number of conspiracies sitting in his Tadepalli palace but he would not be able to stop the Amaravati farmers’ Padayatra.
