-HC made serious comments on Saraswathi Power: Pattabhi
-Jagan Govt favoured Jagan family company
AMARAVATI: TDP national official spokesman Kommareddy Pattabhi Ram on Wednesday accused Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy of ‘misleading’ even the court for benefitting Saraswathi Power.
Pattabhi Ram termed it as shameless on the part of the Chief Minister to misguide the court by misusing his constitutional post. Jagan Reddy misused power to allocate twice the water allocation in violation of the Centre’s environmental approvals.
Addressing a press conference here, the TDP leader said it was atrocious that the petitioner and the Government joined hands to mislead the court on the issue of leasing limestone mines to Saraswathi Power. Jagan Reddy got mining approvals for Saraswati Power in Dachepalli and Machavaram mandals in Guntur district in 2009 by taking undue advantage during his father YSR rule.
Pattabhi Ram said YSR allocated limestone mines in hundreds of acres to his son’s company in violation of rules. The then Kiran Kumar Reddy Government issued a notice asking why lease of Jagan company should not be cancelled for not starting works as per the scheduled time. Eventually, the lease was cancelled.
The TDP leader said that Saraswathi Power challenged the cancellation orders in the court later. But now, the High Court passed serious comments on the whole issue. In a petition filed by YCP MP Raghu Rama Krishnam Raju, the court commented that the petitioner Jagan company and the respondent Jagan Government could get a favourable judgement in favour of Jagan Reddy’s Saraswathi Power.
Pattabhi said that the High Court had commented that the respondent Government’s lawyer Ponnavolu Sudhakar Reddy had blindly supported petitioner Jagan Reddy company. As a result, the judicial system became a victim in the Saraswathi Power lands lease case.
The TDP leader pointed out that the court took objection to the manner in which the facts were twisted for taking environmental clearances and lease approvals. From this, it was clear that Jagan Reddy misused the Government’s additional advocate general to pass on undue benefits to his family company.
