TDP to DRI: Probe role of Jagan Govt, YCP and AP Police

AP became a hub of drug smuggling in India
Rs 9,000 Cr heroin case exposed ‘Tadepalli-Taliban’ links: Bonda Uma
MLA’s relative running tainted firm from Vijayawada
AMARAVATI: TDP former MLA Bonda Umamaheswara Rao on Wednesday urged the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), headquartered in Delhi, to launch a thorough probe into Andhra Pradesh becoming a hub of heroin and other drug smuggling activities under the YSRCP Government in the past two and half years.
Bonda Uma wanted the DRI to probe the role of the AP Government, AP Police and the ruling YSRCP in the drug mafia activities. Sudhakar, a relative of a ruling YSRCP MLA, started the Vijayawada firm that was involved in the Rs. 9,000 heroin smuggling case. He opened his firm in Satyanarayanapuram locality in Vijayawada after the YSRCP came to power. All these mafia activities were going on with the knowledge and active support of the ruling party’s big boss.
Addressing a press conference here, the TDP leader said that CM Jagan Reddy and his YSRCP party had become a threat not just to AP State but to the national security as a whole. The ruling party was just trying to escape from its role in the heroin case. It was trying to divert attention by making baseless allegations against the TDP. Minister Perni Nani should explain why the tainted firm involved in the Rs. 9,000 Cr heroin case opened its office in AP and not in other parts of the country. If the smuggling gangs hailed from another State, then why did the AP Government and AP Police allow them to open their operations in AP?
Bonda Uma asserted that their party would write letters and pass on all information relating to the drug mafia to the DRI officials in Delhi. There were reports that over 22 containers worth Rs. 70,000 Cr heroin had already been brought to AP and then distributed to all 29 States from here. The DRI should probe all these details and nab the gangs who were carrying out large scale operations with the support of those in positions of power. After the YSRCP formed the government in AP, the State became a hub of sand, liquor, land, mining, render sander and tonsure hair mafia.
The TDP leader expressed concern that the latest drug mafia revealed the greater dangers being posed to the young generation of AP. The greed and recklessness of the YCP leaders was threatening to destroy the future of the State for several generations. Moreover, the massive illegal money from drug mafia activities was falling into the hands of the Taliban and the ISI. As such, the YSRCP rulers became a threat to national security. The DRI should probe the Tadepalli-Taliban links as part of their investigation into the Rs. 9,000 Cr heroin case.
Bonda Uma said that in June, several containers of heroin worth thousands of crores came from Afghanistan to Vijayawada. The AP Police were aware of this. The Jagan Reddy regime was handing over all the ports in the State to private companies. This was being done with an ulterior motive to hand over the State to the international gangs and destroy its future forever. The TDP would complain to the DRI against the role of the AP DGP as well. AP had come to stand among top States in crime rate in the country under the YSRCP rule.
The TDP leader said that the world had known only the Afghan Taliban till now but henceforth it would come to know about the dark activities of the AP YCP Taliban. The YCP Taliban had looted thousands of crores in cheap liquor, sand, lands, mining and now drugs. There were no accounts for Rs. 2 lakh Cr brought as loans by the AP Government.
