Amaravathi, Dec 6: Andhra Pradesh stood in number one position in drug smuggling during Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy rule and the crime rate too has gone up uncontrollably, said the TDP politburo member, Mr Bonda Umamaheswara Rao, here on Tuesday.
Mr Umamaheswara Rao told media persons at the party headquarters here that while industries and investments poured into the State when Mr Chandrababu Naidu was the chief minister, now after Mr Jagn Mohan Reddy came to power, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Income Tax (IT) wing are frequently visiting Andhra Pradesh. During the TDP regime, Andhra Pradesh was called as ‘Swarnandhra Pradesh’ (Golden Andhra Pradesh) and now it is Nera and Ghora (Criminal and Atrocious) Andhra Pradesh, he remarked.
The State stood on top in Ease of Doing Business and in law and order when Mr Chandrababu Naidu was at the helm of affairs but now the crime rate has reached the maximum heights and the State is now the care of address for drug smuggling, Mr Bonda Uma said.
Mentioning the Smuggling in India report that 18,267 kg drugs were found in the State, the TDP politburo member asked how Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy can face the public with this report.
Ganja and other drugs are being transported from the State, Mr Umamaheswara Rao said and stated that the agency area in North Andhra turned into a zone for ganja cultivation while the whole North Andhra is a den for ganja sale. “Wherever the drugs are found, the name of Andhra Pradesh is heard,” he remarked.
Mr Bonda Uma said that the ‘J’ gang and the ruling YSRCP leaders are cultivating ganja and are resorting to online sale of the drugs. “The roots of the drugs caught in the Mundra Port in Gujarat have links in Andhra Pradesh,” he observed.
Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy is totally damaging the image of the State as atrocities on women are on the rise and this was clearly mentioned in the report submitted by the National Women Commission, he said. Mr Jagan and the woman leaders of the YSRCP are simply cheating the women in the State by mentioning the Disa Act, which is not in existence, he added.
Crores of rupees are looted from the innocent public in the name of Sankalpa Siddhi, which is nothing but a scam, Mr Umamaheswara Rao said and stated that the money thus amassed is being invested in Hyderabad and Bengaluru, Mr Bonda Umamaheswara Rao maintained.
This is coming to light with the IT raids, he said and dared the YSRCP leaders to come out with details as to how they amassed so much wealth. Mr Bonda Uma wanted the investigative agencies to probe the whole issue and bring to light the facts.
