Sawang a victim of ‘use and throw’ policy: Yanamala
Jagan playing musical chairs with DGP, CS posts
AMARAVATI: TDP politburo member Yanamala Ramakrishnudu on Wednesday criticised Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy for ‘grossly misusing and insulting’ the Government employees and all India services officers in the State.
Ramakrishnudu said the Chief Minister had used Gautham Sawang for making illegal arrests and for perpetrating unethical activities on the people of AP. Now, he was transferred and humiliated without giving any post.
In a statement here, the TDP leader slammed the CM for playing an ulterior game of ‘musical chairs’ with the top posts like the Chief Secretary and the Director General of Police. The transfers of the CS and the DGP were made only to serve the political goals of the ruling YSRCP.
Ramakrishnudu recalled how Jagan Reddy fondly addressed L.V. Subrahmanyam as ‘anna’ (big brother) but eventually shunted him to a trivial post. Likewise, P.V. Ramesh and Ajay Kallam were meted out ill-treatment till they stepped aside. Ajay Kallam was used for maligning the judges. Later, he was made to leave after his services were used.
The TDP leader said at one time, Ajay Kallam behaved as if he was the whole and sole of the Chief Minister’s Office. In no time, adverse conditions were created so that he could not even come to the CMO. Praveen Prakash was given full control over the CMO but now he was sent out of the State to handle a smaller responsibility at the AP Bhavan in Delhi.
Ramakrishnudu said the CM addressed the employees and officers as ‘anna and thammudu’ (brothers). He told them that they should guide him in running the administration in the State. Later, they were subjected to severe humiliations. It was high time the employees and the police should understand the CM’s style of functioning.
The TDP leader deplored that the CM was having a mindset that those not cooperating with his corruption should fall at his feet. The AP Government got huge revenue through massive loans, increased taxes and sale of public lands. But, it was not ready to give timely salaries and pensions. Countless promises made to the employees during the elections were not fulfilled.
Ramakrishnudu recalled how the Government carried out salary cuts while saying that the PRC was given to the employees. For two and half years, they postponed cancellation of the CPS. Finally, they simply said they made the CPS promise without having a proper idea. Employees were even worried about the retirement benefits.
