Lokesh decries ‘YCP attack’ on Chittoor dalit

-Dalit tied and beaten over Rs 10,000 loan
-Atrocities on Dalits in Dalit Deputy CM’s segment

AMARAVATI: TDP National General Secretary Nara Lokesh on Tuesday expressed concern that there seemed to be no end to the atrocities being committed by CM Jagan Mohan Reddy, his party and his social group’s leaders on the weaker sections in the State.

Lokesh condemned the latest ‘physcial torture’ of a Dalit man named Chandran by the ruling YSRCP goons at Peddakantipalli hamlet in Nandanuru panchayat limits in Gangadhara Nellore assembly segment in Chittoor district.

In a statement here, Lokesh said that Deputy CM Narayana Swamy’s right hand Eeswar Reddy and his henchmen tied legs and hands of Chandran and gave him a thrashing. The Dalit victim was taken to the mango garden and meted out torture just for repayment of a Rs. 10,000 loan.

Nara Lokesh described as a ‘sadistic act’ the manner in which the YCP miscreants kidnapped, tied up and then beat up the weaker section’s person. Once again, it was amply proved that there was no safety to the lives of Dalits under the ruthless and oppressive regime of Jagan Mohan Reddy.

The TDP MLC demanded the police to explain why no FIR was registered till now despite a complaint filed by the aggrieved SC family and relatives. The law and order in Andhra Pradesh was apparently in the hands of the YCP leaders but not the police. Instead of preventing injustice to his Dalit community, Deputy CM Narayana Swamy was acting beneath his post and merely passing time by playing second fiddle to CM Jagan Reddy.

Lokesh asked what moral right Narayana Swamy had to comment on Bheemla Nayak when he was afraid of talking about atrocities being perpetrated on Dalits in his assembly constituency. The SC, ST atrocities cases were filed on the Dalit farmers itself when they were peacefully protesting in Amaravati Capital City area against the atrocious 3 Capitals plan.

Lokesh recalled how the High Court passed strictures against the police for filing atrocities cases against SCs. The Jagan Reddy regime should change its attitude at least now. It should prove its commitment to the Dalit cause by making immediate arrest of Eeswar Reddy for attacking Dalit person Chandran.
