AMARAVATI: TDP politburo member Varla Ramaiah on Wednesday urged the DGP of AP not to delay action any more against the culprits who held casino, recording dances, gambling and teen patti in Gudivada in Krishna district during Sankranti festival days.

Ramaiah wrote a letter to the DGP, asking why no case has been filed so far against the organisers of the illegal casino and cheer girl dances despite social media videos available

Expressing serious concern, the TDP leader said none other than Minister Kodali Nani and his henchmen organized these unlawful events at K. Convention Hall for three days in Gudivada. The AP State lost its prestige at the national level because of these gambling activities. The civil society was hanging its heads in shame on hearing about these highly objectionable activities.

Ramaiah deplored that the kind of obscene dances and gambling held in Gudivada was not conducted even in metropolitan cities like Mumbai, Bangalore and Chennai. There were reports that over Rs. 500 Cr illegal money changed hands during the casino activities held in Gudivada. The social media and electronic media exposed this but the AP police remained as silent spectators.

The TDP leader strongly objected to the complacent manner in which only an enquiry by a DSP level officer was ordered into the whole casino event. This inquiry was ordered only after the TDP leaders made a formal complaint. On seeing this, the general public were talking very badly about the performance of the State police.

Ramaiah asked why the DGP was delaying action in the name of enquiry even after evidence was available. Already, the prestige of the AP police was lost at the international level because of its failure to curb the heroin and ganja smuggling from the AP soil.

The TDP leader demanded that immediate action should be initiated against Kodali Nani and his henchmen. The persons responsible for the casino and cheer girls dances should be immediately arrested. There was an urgent need to restore and repair the image of the AP police in the eyes of the public.
