TDP blames YCP rule for ‘arrack deaths’

-Jagan greed tearing mangala sutras of women: Anitha
-Consider hooch deaths as Govt murders

AMARAVATI: TDP Telugu Mahila state president Vangalapudi Anitha on Friday held the YSRCP Government responsible for the non-stop deaths of innocent people due to consumption of country arrack and harmful cheap liquor brands.

Anitha expressed concern that over 15 persons died due to consumption of country arrack at Jangareddygudem in West Godavari district within two days. If Jagan Reddy fulfilled his promise on liquor prohibition, so many women would not have lost their mangala sutras.

In a statement here, the TDP leader said the ruling YSRCP was taking a heavy toll on the lives of people with its free flow of harmful arrack and liquor. While the Government was selling life threatening cheap liquor brands in its liquor shops, the YCP leaders and activists were selling country arrack in rural areas.

Anitha warned that all the deaths caused by consumption of arrack and cheap liquor would be considered as ‘Government murders’. CM Jagan Mohan Reddy was promoting these harmful liquor and arrack as part of his endless greed for commissions and ill gotten money.

The TDP leader demanded the Chief Minister and his party leaders to explain why they could not implement the phased prohibition even in the third year of their regime. The YCP should be held responsible for so many families losing their bread winners. Jagan Reddy was not giving any value to the lives of innocent public.

Anitha advised the Government to immediately come to the rescue of the families who lost their bread winners due to harmful liquor. An ex gratia of Rs. 25 lakh should be paid to each bereaved family. The illicit liquor and country arrack should be stopped forthwith in the State. Jagan Reddy should clarify when he would implement total prohibition.
