YCP focused on fake voters, not flood victims: TDP

Jagan failures caused huge loss of life, crops: Atchanna
Seema districts, Nellore badly hit in floods
AMARAVATI: TDP State President K. Atchannaidu on Saturday held the YSRCP government negligence and failures responsible for the huge loss of life and property in the latest heavy rains and floods in different parts of the State.
Atchannaidu said the Jagan Reddy regime had shown a lot of interest in using bogus voters in the Kuppam election while totally neglecting damage control measures in the heavy rains. No attention was paid to rescue the flood victims. CM Jagan should stop playing ‘cheap politics’ and start relief measures for the people.
In a statement here, the TDP leader deplored that agriculture crops were damaged in thousands of acres. The general public and farmers suffered heavy losses in the floods and incessant rains. Over 12 persons died and another 30 persons were washed away and missing in the Kadapa district alone. What was the Chief Minister doing when the people were dying?
Atchannaidu said that some people had lost their all in the heavy rains in Rayalaseema and also Nellore district. They became homeless and stayed on the roads. Instead of rescuing them, the ruling YSRCP leaders were indulging in ‘mudslinging politics’ only. Jagan Reddy only focused on committing election offences in Kuppam. Bogus voters were brought in buses from neighbouring states on the polling day. Why was nobody coming buses from other districts to help flood victims?
The TDP leader said that there was advance information about the flood threat but the Chief Minister has miserably failed to give a timely preventive response. The Government’s indifference became responsible for huge loss of crops, lives and property. The Jagan regime owed an explanation to the public on this tragedy.
Atchannaidu demanded that immediate steps should be taken to rescue the persons trapped in floods. Financial assistance should be released to the families of the deceased persons in the floods. The farmers were in great suffering following loss of crops that they cultivated with their sweat and blood.
The TDP leader urged the Government to immediately take up enumeration of crop losses so as to hand over compensation to the farmers. The TDP leaders and cadres, on their part, would do everything possible to provide help to the flood victims.
